At the last doctor appointment the pediatrician discussed starting solid foods with Olivia. Since Nicole is exclusively breastfeeding it is important that by 6 months old Olivia be receiving solids in addition to breast milk so she gets enough iron. Because of that, we recently purchased a baby food processor and are reading up on making our own baby food (Super Baby Foods is an eye opening book) so that we can make sure the food she receives is organic and nutritious and free from additives that are added to jarred baby food. While we realize this is more labor intensive to do, we think it is important and are excited about the challenge. This weekend our plan is to get the high chair put together and begin making food.
And lastly a member of the Smith family reached a milestone over the holiday weekend. Mark turned 30 while celebrating with friends in Vegas! What a year this has been!

Making your own baby food is sooo easy!!! All you need is a pot, blender and ice cube trays!!! And is it sooooo much cheaper!!! Hope she likes it! Enjoy!!!
