9 Months Old

While in South Africa, Olivia turned 9 months old. Where is the time going? Every day she surprises us with something new. For instance, yesterday she started puckering her lips and giving kisses to us and her dolls. She also likes to make popping noises with her mouth. While in South Africa, her Great Uncle Tony taught her to make clicking noises. And she makes a vrrrrooom noise. She also waves and says hi and bye to people.

Olivia's vocabulary continues to expand rapidly. She is saying mama, da da, up, hi, hey, bye, at (I think she means cat), ook (for book), nay nay (for nana), pop pop (for poppy), and uh oh.

She now can stand unassisted for a few seconds and is walking by holding on to objects. She continues to crawl and can move from one room to another quickly (making keeping an eye on her challenging).

Olivia has 4 teeth now (2 on the top and 2 on the bottom) and definitely more teeth on the way since she is teething again. Her hair is also getting longer and when it is wet or there is humidity we are starting to see some curl in it. Her eyes have turned a greenish/blue but change slightly according to what she is wearing.

She recently added broccoli and oatmeal to her expanding foods she is trying, which include organic home made baby purees and finger foods like avocado, sweet potato, banana, pear, tofu, butternut squash, carrots, peas, and beans. She absolutely loves organic green puffs and unsweetened cheerios. Now that we are back from South Africa we are anxious to try more foods including whole milk yogurt, apples and zucchini. Her main source of food remains breast milk and she nurses around 5 times a day.

We haven't gone for her 9 month well check up yet so we don't know her exact weight and height but according to our scales she was weighing around 16 lbs.
