This Week....

This Week….

This past week Olivia added new words to her vocabulary including please, socks, gi gi (giraffe), all gone, brush, stuck, hello (when she picks up the phone), Elmo (while hugging my old tickle me elmo), octo (for her octopus bath toy), squash, and Mark (he wasn’t so fond of her calling him Mark instead of Dad).

Olivia tried to give cat Chloe her toothbrush and told her to “brush, brush.”

Olivia pointed numerous times to the electrical outlets (which are covered) and said “no, no.”

She spent a lot of time coloring and pouring out the crayon box.

Olivia climbed into her dump truck, stood up, danced, climbed from the truck onto the couch and then back down into the truck, to rest sitting on the side, and then back down to the floor (scared mommy and daddy to death).

Olivia knows the motions to the “Where is pointer” song and as soon as the song comes on she holds up her pointer fingers.

Olivia completed the month long parents and tots swim class at the Y and I think she is definitely glad it is over. Olivia never took to the instructor and the water was so cold she shivered every time she was in it. The last class she only stayed in the water a few minutes. But we didn’t want her to negatively associate the class with all pools so we have continued to take her to the neighborhood pool where she voluntarily sticks her face in the water (probably because it is a salt water pool and she likes the taste), will lay her head back (sometimes), kicks her feet under the water, and spends a lot of time splashing on the stairs. Next time when we try another swim class we will find a warmer pool.
