Last night’s sleep struggle went something like this (after reading four books, saying prayers, and singing a song).
(Olivia tossing and turning)
Me: Olivia, what are you doing?
O: Livie fighting sleep.
Me: (Giggling) Yes, you are.
(More tossing and turning)
O: Livie roll over, cover up. Livie go to sleep (makes snoring noise), get up, go to school. See Kulu, see Ms. Lori, Ms. Gina, the boys and girls!
Me: And who else will you see?
O: Shee-la!
It took everything I had not to crack up at her but I was trying to stay firm about going to sleep so I just told her that yes, she needed to go to sleep so she could do all of those things tomorrow.
