Gracelyn 4 Months Old

Another month has passed and Gracelyn turned 4 months old on Dec. 21. She is growing so fast. Her stats from the 4 month doctor appointment showed that she is 12 lbs (10-15%) and 23.5 inches tall (15-25%). Although tiny, she is increasing her weight so we are feeling good with her growth. Gracelyn still nurses every 2.5-3 hours during the day and wakes once or twice to nurse at night. When I am at work she takes 3, 4-5 oz bottles of pumped milk. The doctors and others comment on her head and neck strength. She loves to “stand” and often when you try to get her to sit, she locks her knees so she can keep standing. We set up Olivia’s old exersaucer and Gracelyn spends a lot of time in it. She hits at the toys, but mostly she just likes being able to “stand.” She regularly rolls from her back to her side and back. Several times she has rolled completely over.
Gracelyn is more and more verbal. Just recently she started making a “gooh” bubble noise. If Olivia asks her to make the noise, she makes it back to her. We have this on tape and it is so cute to see the girls interacting! Gracelyn is also showing more interest in her toys, and Santa and family brought her many new shiny, noisy, toys to explore.
Gracelyn is very smiley. Even when we do something she doesn’t like-such as suctioning her nose or putting in eye drops-she smiles when we are done.  I guess it is common with second children to be easy going, and this is definitely the case with Gracelyn. She goes with the flow for the most part. The afternoon fussiness/gas is finally subsiding (which the doctor said would be the case as she got older) and she is pretty predictable. She eats, plays, and sleeps.
Gracelyn is a drooling mess right now-she keeps her entire fist in her mouth with teething. We have tried a few teethers but she prefers her hand. She seems to be early with teething just like Olivia.
These past four months have flown by. Exhausting yes, but these have been the best months of our lives getting to see Gracelyn grow and watching Olivia be such a wonderful big sister.
