Happy Birthday Olivia

It's hard to put into words how special today is for our family. Last year on this day at 9:10 AM Olivia Kate entered the world. Our lives were forever changed. As our family members has often said, it is hard to imagine how one person who is so small can change you the way she has. This last year has seriously flown by. A piece of advice most parents give is to live in the moment and take in all the small things, because it goes so quickly. I thought that was cliche at the time, but it really is the only way to explain the first year of being a parent. Our baby is now a toddler. We survived the first year of parenthood. And not only did we survive it, but it was the best year of our lives.

We are saving the birthday party blog until the professional pictures are ready, but here are some sneak peaks from this weekend's safari adventure. Tonight will be spent letting Olivia once again blow out birthday candles (she practices blowing out candles on her toy cake Aunt Sandra gave her all the time) and giving her all her favorite foods (cheese and avocado) and maybe even a small piece of left over birthday cake.
