When we returned from last week's adventures in the hotel there was a surprise waiting for Olivia. Her Gramps and Ma'kulu had surprised Olivia with her own house! On Saturday while it was raining, Gramps, Uncle Dave and Mark spent several hours building her house. And when we returned on Sunday all the family came over to watch her reaction to seeing her house for the first time. It was so cute since she announced to her guests "hi" when she came down the stairs and saw them all waiting for her. Olivia spent quite a long time exploring the inside and outside of her house. She especially enjoyed splashing in the water that had accumulated in the house's sink. And she was quite fond of the doorbell and kept ringing it. Cousin Maxine even joined in on the fun and they both peered out the house's beautiful bay window.
When Olivia was soaked from splashing in the water and it got too cold none of us wanted to pull her away from her house because she was having such a good time, and as we anticipated, she wasn't happy to have to stop playing. Unfortunately it was cold and rainy most of the week so she didn't get to go back to her house and play until Thursday, but she remembered the doorbell and the sink and went right to them!
Thanks so much to Gramps and Ma'kulu for the beautiful house that Olivia will get to enjoy for years to come. We can only imagine all the playing she will do in her own house! And thanks also to Uncle Dave for spending his Saturday helping build the house. When you are ready to build Maxine her own house, we will send Mark over :-)
