First Dentist Appointment

On Tuesday Olivia went to her first dentist appointment. Most experts recommend a dental exam around age one to check for tooth decay or other problems. There is not a teeth cleaning at this appointment, it is mostly just to let Olivia become comfortable with the dentist and to rule out major issues.

Based on the recommendation of a fellow Junior League member we chose a dental office close to the house. The waiting room had a movie room and game room so Olivia was entertained while I filled our paperwork. During the consultation with the dentist, a hygienist blew bubbles with Olivia to occupy her. And then when it came time to check inside the mouth Olivia cooperated perfectly. The dentist said everything looked great and we will do a similar check in a few months.

Olivia was on her best behavior and enjoyed picking out a purple ball and Dora sticker at the dentist office!

I am so glad for the positive experience and feeling more reassured should Olivia ever have a dental emergency (let's pray not, but accidents happen at this age) and we need a dentist after hours.

All in all, I was one proud mommy today. Olivia even told everyone bye when we left!

The sun was too bright to look at the camera but we still documented this first!
