Awhile ago I blogged about keeping a journal to record all of those little moments with Olivia-the funny expressions, the melt-your-heart moments, and even the cringe worthy ones. I stuck to it and want to share a few from the last week.
The song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” plays and the vocalist sings ,“Don’t worry,” and Olivia responds “Be Happy.”
Nana asks Olivia to say the blessing and she folds her hands and whispers, “Mama, Dada, Nana, Poppa, Kulu, Gramps, Xini, Dada’s boo boo (side note: Mark skinned up his face), Amen”
Olivia had a dirty diaper and came to me and said, “Mama change Livie’s diaper.”
Going up and down the stairs Olivia counts, “2,3,4,5,6,7” and later she says “7,8,9.”
While taking her daily walk Olivia piles acorns in her pockets and says, “Acorns in Livie’s pocket.”
More and more we can have a conversation with Olivia. Like today when Olivia woke from her nap after Parents Morning Out:
“Olivia how was your day?”-Mama
“Good”-Olivia
“What did you do?”-Mama
“Read books, play, no, no, no, Xini” –Olivia (She must have been thinking about her cousin)
“Did you eat your lunch?”-Mama
Olivia nods head yes.
“Did you eat the muffins Mama made?”-Mama
“Yes, yummy.”-Olivia
