19 Month Update

I can’t believe another month has flown by! Olivia turns 19 months old today.

She had her well check up last week and weighed 23 lbs (50-75%), is 33 ½ inches long and has a head circumference of 48 ½ cm (90-95%).

Some foods that Olivia is really into right now include raisins. She keeps asking for “more raisins.” Olivia is also enjoying clementines and of course cookies! She keeps asking for “cookies” although we try and reserve those for special occasions.  While Olivia has always liked yogurt recently we started introducing Greek yogurt, which she really seems to enjoy.

Olivia loves to dance to music and does all the motions for some of the songs like “If you are happy and you know it” and “Itsy Bitsy Spider.” She also likes using her musical instruments to make noise.

Her cousin gave her a Dora the Explorer house and car and she spends lots of time playing with Dora. Olivia continues to enjoy art projects, and when we pick her up from parents’ morning out she tells us about the projects she makes. We are also continuing with regular art projects at home, including our letter activities and now we have started some Thanksgiving crafts.

Olivia also has a fascination with Band-Aids. This week we went through an entire box of Band-Aids because Olivia likes having a “boo boo” on her finger!

We have all but given up writing down new words because it seems that she adds words every day. We are already at around 200 words Olivia says regularly. Olivia is putting more two and three word sentences together and sometimes even longer sentences, like “Mama change Livie’s diaper.” It melts our heart when Olivia says “I love you,” and she likes to say “Mama Happy, Dada Happy, Livie Happy” when we are all sitting at the table or doing something together as a family.

This past month we had the best of intentions to start weaning Olivia from her beloved paci but a series of colds postponed this, although she is good about only using a paci before bed and nap times and in the car. This next month should be exciting with the celebration of Thanksgiving and hopefully helping Nana and Poppy move into their new home!
